Our membership is the heart of our operation. Without hands to hold the nozzle, rescue tool, or medical bag, we cannot fulfill the promises we have made to the citizens of our community. Our roster of over 60 volunteers believes that professionalism doesn't mean you receive a paycheck. Volunteer’s take turns helping man our stations at night and on weekend day shifts as well as being “on-call” for all incidents that may occur any time, any day. The department has also hired part-time, paid personnel to staff our department with emergency medical providers around the clock. Members honor those members that came before by constantly striving to be the best firefighter, rescue technician, or medical provider they can be by attending
training meetings and certified classes. The department sponsors a
junior fire department program for youth ages 14 to 18 that are interested in emergency services. The membership elects a slate of
officers to lead them every year. We also hold a pork bar-b-que dinner twice a year to raise funds for a "Fireman's Fund" that we use to help charities and those in need and host a retiree breakfast every spring to thank all our past members and help our younger members learn about the roots of the department.
